The Challenge & Reason for the Remodel
Initially, this guest bathroom in Chandler was a dark and unwelcoming dungeon, it was quite an experience to enter (not a good one). It was not only unattractive but also poorly constructed with unacceptable craftsmanship, leaving our client, their guests, and even our team demoralized. Our client's goal was to transform the bathroom into a modern, yet simplistic bathroom without excessive luxury or bling!

The New Design Concept
Inside our 3D rendering Software, we created a photo-realistic preview of our client's new bathroom based on their selected materials. This allowed our client to see all of the materials in action and avoid costly design mistakes that would otherwise cost a lot of money to rectify. Imagine selecting all of the materials for your bathroom remodeling project and choosing a tile or certain fixture that did not end up looking the way you thought it would!
With a modern and simplistic goal, we selected a neutral color palette, featuring a cream and white tile, pebble stone, countertop, and flooring. To introduce a bit of contrast our client chose matte black fixtures and hardware throughout.
We added a distinctive touch to the shower with a unique tile pattern on the walls. We utilized two types of tiles for said walls: a porcelain wood-look tile for the right-sided feature wall and a gray/cream tile installed along the other 2 walls in a horizontal stacked pattern. Instead of a conventional pivoting door, we opted for a barn sliding door to enhance accessibility into the shower due to the small amount of space! Bathroom Remodeling in Chandler, AZ - THE PROCESS:
1) Preparation Before Demolition and Dust:
We diligently covered all walkways from the bathroom to our dump trailer and protected the driveway with thick sheeting. This protected our client's indoor and outdoor spaces and prevented scratches and stains! Additionally, we covered indoor areas that may have been exposed to dust with painter's plastic to reduce post-remodeling cleanup, which no one likes!
2) Demolition/Removal:
Demolition is always a fun time, but it requires precision to avoid damaging internal water lines, electrical wiring, and AC components when cutting into walls and ceilings to remove old tile, drywall, and other components. We took extra precautions to ensure a safe and controlled demolition without unwanted damage. In the end, we had a clean slate and a new canvas to execute the new remodel!
3) Remodel/Rebuild Start:
The first step was updating the bathroom's plumbing including a new shower valve, an updated 2-inch ABS shower drain conversion, and raising the shower head. Following the completion of plumbing updates to code and leak tests, we installed two new recessed lights with a touchscreen dimmer and a new vanity light fixture. The shower was then comprehensively waterproofed and leak-tested.
The shower tile was installed with precision, ensuring flat tiles with no lippage, straight and even grout lines, clean un-chipped cuts, and accurate mitered angles on the Schluter metal trim. We painted the bathroom a bright white color to enhance illumination. The new toilet, baseboards, mirror, medicine cabinet, and final hardware finishes were installed with close attention to symmetry. Lastly, The custom-fabricated barn sliding door was the final touch, completing this stunning bathroom remodel and bringing our 3D rendering Design to life!
